Whisker Lily

The bloom that mimics a friend.

The Whisker Lily is an aquatic flower native to Veritam’s lakes and warm shallows. By day, its soft peach petals stretch wide over the water’s surface. But as night falls, the bloom morphs its' colors- mirroring the appendages seen on leafels. This nightly mimicry has earned the plant its name, a tribute to the fine, whisker-like appendages that trail off a leafel's butt.

Despite its beauty, the Whisker Lily gives off a pungent, mossy odor, discouraging herbivores and often polarizing to Faunid gardeners. Nonetheless, it remains cherished for its symbolism, subtle glow, and practical use. The petals, tubers, and seeds are all edible and often used in calming broths or sweet teas, especially in Veritamian cuisine. Dried blossoms are sometimes carried as tokens of affection.
