Veritam Marigold

Color for the cloth, warmth for the soul.

Veritam Marigolds are bright, sun-loving blooms that flourish in meadow clearings scattered throughout the forests near Veritam. With golden-orange petals that seem to trap the afternoon light, these hardy flowers are often found drawing in pollinators and wanderers alike. At night, these golden flowers explode with the light captured from the day.

Their most common use is as a dye pigment - particularly in the creation of orange-stained silks and festival robes. When boiled and steeped, the petals produce rich ochres, golds, and soft ambers, which can be layered for deeper saturation. The pigment holds well over time and is considered a symbol of endurance and joy in local traditions.

Though not especially rare, their color and utility make them a staple of both cottage gardens and forest settlements. In early spring, it’s common to see children weaving the first marigold blooms into garlands and gifting them to elders for luck and long life.
