Gem Vine
Beautiful, but clingy.
This elusive climber is one of Veritam’s most mysterious and coveted plants. Named for the glittering, jewel-like droplets that hang fron its white flowers, the gem vine is as mesmerizing as it is unsettling. Its carnivorous nature makes it dangerous to small nocturnal insects.
It grows parasitically, winding itself around host trees and slowly blanketing them in a lattice of thin and reaching vines. The droplets it secretes proudly glow in the dark, luring prey in with a blue shimmer before trapping them. Though beautiful, the vine’s slow consumption of its host is often seen as a quiet warning: not all pretty things are harmless.
The vine is incredibly rare. It flourishes only in secluded, humid forest pockets near Veritam. Attempts to cultivate it elsewhere have largely failed.
